By Joel Stinnett – Reporter, Nashville Business Journal

HCA Healthcare Inc. will build five new full-service hospitals in Texas, according to an announcement — one in Dallas Fort-Worth, one in Houston, one in San Antonio and two in Austin.

The two Austin hospitals are in partnership with St. David’s Foundation and Georgetown Health Foundation. The locations and number of beds for each hospital were not disclosed, and local representatives for St. David's said details will come out in about a week.

In DFW, HCA Healthcare is branded under the Medical City name, and this new hospital will be as well, according to the company. It is one of North Texas' largest health care providers with 16 hospitals, 4 off-campus emergency rooms, 11 ambulatory surgery centers and 42 CareNow Urgent Care centers. Medical City lists 17,000 local employees, 5,000 active physicians and 6,000 nurses.
